Marvel Studios’ “Loki” returned for its highly anticipated second season on Disney+ after a successful first season that delved deep into the intriguing world of the Time Variance Authority. The season two premiere of “Loki” achieved the distinction of being the second most-watched season premiere on Disney+ in 2023. Starring Tom Hiddleston as the cunning God of Mischief, the show garnered an impressive 10.9 million views worldwide within three days of its Disney+ release.
The only Disney+ season premiere to surpass “Loki” in 2023 viewership numbers was the third season premiere of “The Mandalorian,” which debuted on Disney+ in March.
Not only did the second season of “Loki” capture the attention of viewers, but it also earned praise from critics. With an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the season is considered “certified fresh,” and it boasts an impressive 94% audience score on the same platform.
Since his introduction in the 2011 film “Thor,” Loki has evolved into one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Universe. He has played significant roles in blockbuster films like “The Avengers” (2012), has a thriving merchandise line on shopDisney.com, and can even be spotted at Disney’s California Adventure as part of Avengers Campus.
