Hayden Christensen Discusses Fan Support in Star Wars Community

Hayden Christensen, the actor renowned for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support of Star Wars fans as he reprised his iconic role for an appearance in the Disney+ series, “Ahsoka.”

In a video interview shared by the official Star Wars and Ahsoka Instagram accounts, Christensen shared his emotions about returning to the beloved Star Wars universe. He described how he was genuinely awestruck when he first read the scripts: “When I read the scripts for the first time, I was just blown away,” he said. “I was thrilled to get to come back and do more with this character, and to get to work with these people who I really admired.”

He went on to express his gratitude for the remarkable support he has received from the fans, emphasizing how difficult it is to put into words the depth of his feelings. Christensen’s connection to the Star Wars franchise began with his role as the young Anakin Skywalker in the second installment of the prequel film trilogy. Anakin’s character arc led him to the Dark Side, transforming into the iconic villain, Darth Vader. However, Anakin also played a pivotal role in the life of Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi introduced in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” where she trained under Anakin.

In her own series, “Ahsoka,” the character is portrayed by Rosario Dawson, set in the same timeline as “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.” Both Dawson and Christensen have expressed their excitement about bringing their characters together in live action for the first time. Dawson noted their long-standing friendship, saying, “I met Hayden when I was sixteen, and we were in acting school together over a summer … It really was like seeing my old friend.”
